You asked for it (eventually) you got it! One of our newer additions to the Lowen’s Natural Skincare line – Shampoo is Betta! is a natural, vegan, sodium laurel sulfate and phthalate-free, coconut-based cleanser that is extremely gentle on hair and skin, while remaining incredibly effective. It cleanses hair and replenishes it with active hydrating, unrefined, cold pressed, locally-sourced hemp seed oil. For extra conditioning power, we’ve added in pro-vitamin B5 (AKA Panthenol) as well as oat oil to complete the picture by providing exceptional activity in preventing itchiness and dryness (which leads to dandruff – especially in the winter months).
We have created Shampoo is Betta! for all types of hair and rest assured that extra care was taken to ensure that it will be gentle on the most sensitive of skin (like all of our products).
Here are the directions: dish out enough shampoo to coat your hair thoroughly. It should foam up nicely but if it doesn’t, add a little more ’till it does – if this doesn’t work then you might want to rinse and repeat (Ahem…we’re not trying to say that your hair is really dirty, but your hair might just be really dirty).
Oh, and why the the name “Shampoo is Betta!”? Truly, we feel that our shampoo is better and we are also big fans of Adam Sandler movies. Remember the scene in Billy Madison where Billy is having a luxurious bubble bath and he is playing with the shampoo and conditioner bottles?
No? Just us? Yeah, we’re weird and we’re OK with that!
Keep it all on the same team, pair-up with our Conditioner is Betta! Cheers to #CANADIANGREENBEAUTY

Questions & Answers
Q Can I use this on color treated hair? I dye my hair red, a very difficult color to keep, and when... answer nowA
Hi there "Tink"
Thank you for your question - this one has come up before and the answer isn't black and white unfortunately. As far as the cleansers go, they are incredibly gentle and non toxic - that, in and of itself, doesn't mean that it won't mess with your color.
My advice is if you've had your color professionally done and they guarantee it if you use a defined set of hair care products, I wouldn't recommend it. That said, we have had heaps of people who have colored hair use both our shampoo and conditioner without incident (and with incredibly clean, smooth, well-cared-for hair).
I hope my answer helps guide your decision.
Thank you for your question.
Before I answer, I need to make some assumptions. When you say "pH balanced," I'm assuming that balanced means that you are asking whether our shampoo has a pH similar to that of the typical scalp.
If we assume that the pH of the scalp has a slightly acidic pH ranging from 4.5-5.5, our Shampoo is Betta has a pH of 4.65 based upon using tap water as the control for calibration (pH =7). That said, Shampoo is Betta! should not alter the pH of your scalp and this combined with the fact that it is not a leave on product (vs perhaps a detangler that has a pH of 7 or 8 for instance).
Hope this answers your question.
